POSITION SUMMARY: Performs duties involved in the instruction and identification of migrant students and assists families and students with translation, advocacy, and referrals to community services. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Skills needed to work effectively with teachers, students, and parents, and communicate effectively and proficiently in Spanish. Maintain the highest level of confidentiality in all matters relating to students and families. Work in an environment with frequent interruptions and changing tasks and priorities. Remain calm, focused and in control when working with students, parents, guardians, and community members who may be upset. Follow written and verbal directions and take initiative to seek clarity and take action when needed. Participate in regular staff and planning meetings as appropriate receive migrant referrals. Work effectively and collaboratively as a team member. Comply with migrant educational guidelines. Physically perform tasks. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
