PURPOSE
The Coordinator, Procurement provides strategic leadership for the district's procurement, contracting, and purchasing functions to ensure the responsible stewardship of public resources, compliance with applicable procurement laws, and efficient delivery of goods and services that support student success and district operations. The role accomplishes this by developing procurement strategies, overseeing competitive solicitation and contract administration processes, establishing purchasing policies and procedures, and leading continuous improvement efforts that promote operational excellence, transparency, fiscal responsibility, and equitable access to district contracting opportunities. The position collaborates closely with district leadership, schools, departments, legal counsel, vendors, and community partners to provide expert guidance on procurement matters, mitigate organizational risk, and strengthen procurement practices that support the district's mission, vision, and core values.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, supply chain management, procurement, finance, accounting, or a related field.
In addition to the degree, five years of progressively responsible experience in public procurement, contract development, and contract administration in a complex, high-volume environment or other experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job responsibilities.
Experience in a K�12 educational organization, governmental agency, or other public-sector environment preferred.
Experience analyzing data, leading teams, or managing programs.
Procurement certification from the State of Oregon (e.g., Oregon Procurement Intermediate or Advanced Certification), a nationally recognized public procurement certification (e.g., CPPO or CPPB), or the ability to obtain a relevant public procurement certification within two (2) years of hire preferred.
