Click Here for the Elementary Regular Education Teacher Full Job Description Position Summary Regular Education Teacher: The employee is primarily responsible for effective teaching and learning of the assigned subject(s) following district approved curriculum, instruction and assessment practices. Primary responsibility shall include student safety and appropriate collaboration and attention to each student's readiness to learn including needed guidance, discipline, and welfare. Employee may teach in a variety of elementary and/or secondary educational, individual or team teaching, settings. Below is our Annual Salary Range for the 25-26 school year: Annual Salary Range (2025-2026): $58,788 - $111,463 (193-Day Contract). Initial placement based on education, experience. This salary range reflects 1.0 FTE. Actual salary is prorated based on FTE and start date. Stipend(s) are pro-rated based on 1.0 FTE and start/end dates of position/assignment. As a licensed employee, you are eligible to receive: A stipend of $2,500 if certified by NBPTS (National Board for Professional Teaching Standards). A stipend of $3,000 if you hold a PhD or EdD. Minimum Qualifications Regular Education Teacher: Successful completion of a teacher certification program at an accredited college or university. Possess or able to obtain Oregon licensure with an elementary- multiple subjects (for elementary teaching positions). Must have successful experience in working with culturally diverse families and communities, or have otherwise demonstrated a commitment to strengthening engagement of a diverse community and skill in communicating with a diverse population. Evidence of continuous professional learning and a commitment to participate in professional growth opportunities and self-reflection on professional practice. Demonstrated content knowledge for subjects/levels being taught. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with parents, students, and staff. Commitment to effective collaboration and teaming within a professional learning community. Skill in classroom management and ability to achieve, support, and maintain acceptable student behavior. Knowledge of and ability to use appropriate and multiple assessment, instruction, and evaluation techniques. Knowledge of child and adolescent development and ability to apply that knowledge to the selection and application of curriculum materials and instructional practices. Knowledge and skill in the use of strategies necessary to meet the diverse needs of students. Knowledge and skill in culturally responsive teaching and learning. Essential Functions Preschool Teacher: Demonstrate an understanding of child development, birth to age eight. Recognize and integrate children's backgrounds including the languages and cultures of the home in planning classroom environments and experiences. Communicate clearly with and listen to families about the education of their children in a variety of ways (i.e. school visits, weekly journal, conferences). Demonstrate playful inquiry approaches to learning through the arts and sciences. Maintain an inviting classroom environment with a rich array of culturally appropriate materials from the arts and sciences that are organized and accessible to young learners. Apply inquiry-based learning theory, and employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the capabilities, interests and motivations of individual students and the learning community to plan a program of study that meets the needs, interests and abilities of students. Utilize a variety of observation and documentation tools as provided to the program, assesses the development and learning of students on a regular basis, and uses the compiled information to plan instruction, and to maintain such records as required by the Preschool Promise grant. Collaborate in partnership with program consultants, classroom assistants, and other support staff (ELD specialists, classroom volunteers, etc.) to implement Inquiry Approaches and to maintain a learning environment for playful inquiry and exploration supporting all learners. Support the transition of children and families to kindergarten. Strive to achieve professional growth. Assist in the selection of books, equipment, furniture and other instructional materials. Retirement Plan Contribution: North Clackamas School District participates in the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS and OPSRP) on behalf of its employees. The district contributes the employer portion; there is also a mandatory employee portion. Upon eligibility, which is defined as working at least six full calendar months in a qualifying position, the employee is required to contribute 6% as their employee portion, via payroll deduction.
